Features offered to national coordinators on european events

The French Ministry for Culture coordinates several yearly european events :

Nuit Européenne des Musées (European Museum Night)
Rendez-Vous européens aux Jardins (Rendez-vous in European Gardens)
Journées européennes de l'Archéologie (European Archaeology Days)
Journées européennes du Patrimoine (European Heritage Days)

The French ministry uses the service of OpenAgenda to gather and broadcast event announcements from local organizers. OpenAgenda provides an online platform for geolocalized and participatory agendas. Generally there is one agenda per french region, then one for the events out of France, for instance : https://openagenda.com/fr/agendas?network=19802121

Each local organizers can directly announce his events, after a control by an agency working on behalf of the French Ministry the events are published on the european agenda. You can then exports any local part of the agenda and embed it on your website. Here is how to do it for Rendez-vous aux Jardins in Hungary for instance :

Go to the Rendez-vous aux Jardins agenda page
Filter on Country : Hungary
Click on Export > Embed, then select the appropriate options and copy-paste the code on your website editor.

With his solution, the events descriptions are shown in your prefered language. The languages of the labels ("search", "january", "monday, and son on) on this embeddable agenda are french, english, german, spanish and italia

Create an account and add an event on OpenAgenda

1) Go to https://openagenda.com/

2) Click on Create an account.

3) Fill in the information and click on "Accept and create your account".

4) An activation email will be sent to your email address. If you take too long to receive it, you can contact us via the messaging system at https://openagenda.com/

5) Once you receive the account activation email, simply click the link in the email to access your OpenAgenda account homepage. Then you can search for a calendar by clicking the "Search" button in the top left corner of your screen.

6) Type the name of the desired agenda (example: European Archeologic Days) and the internal search engine of OpenAgenda will find all the agendas with the keywords of your search.

7) Click on the agenda and add your event by filling in the different fields.

Delete an event / agenda / account

Permanently delete your event

Sign in to your account.
Click on My Events.
Click on Open on your event.
Click on Other actions, then Delete event.

IMPORTANT: If you want to indicate that your event has been canceled, keep it online and change its status.

Supprimer votre agenda

Sign in to your account.
Click "Manage" on the agenda page.
Click the "Advanced" tab, then "Delete."
Enter your password to confirm the deletion.

Delete your account

Click on your account icon, then click Settings.
Click User Profile, then Delete My Account.

Please note that after you delete your account, your events will still be available for viewing. However, administrators or moderators of calendars to which you have contributed events will no longer have access to your contact information.

Duplicate an event

An event can have a single location and multiple time slots.

For a touring show or an annual event, we offer a duplication feature that allows you to create a new event based on a previous one. This eliminates the need for copy-pasting.

For a show tour, you can create an initial event for the first location and then duplicate it for each subsequent location.

For a recurring event, such as a trade show, simply duplicate the event from the previous edition, correct the relevant information, and then confirm.

Please note that this duplication feature only opens a pre-filled event form, and the different event entries are not linked. For example, if you modify the description for event A, event B will not be affected. Each event entry is independent.

Another word of caution: do you really want to duplicate? For example, the same event can appear on multiple calendars. By clicking the "add to another agenda" button, you can share the same event across several calendars, avoiding the need to create duplicates. You can also add time slots to an existing event, even a past one, rather than creating a new one.
